I guess I should use this as an impeadtus to get back to my own blog and finadisha0it.What short memadoadries we all have. When ADSL leanchud in AU, plans were very defadiadnitely aimed at busiadness. It wasn’t until a good 6 – 12 months after ADSL started that ‘home’ plans truly began to emerge. The teladcos do not (curadrently) care about you indiadvidaduadals, unless you work for a large coradpoadraadtion that is going to puradchase en masse for it’s employadees. Why? Because busiadness (big busiadness in paradticaduadlar) will pay the preadmium prices they are demanding. They will start to court the indiadvidadual user maradket if, and only if, the busiadness maradket begins to ebb away. I wanted a (cheap) iphone as much as the next peradson, but sheesh, the world will still be spinadning on July 12, you’ll have food on the table and roof over your heads. AND we’ll be a day closer to saner pricading, but I find this bleetading from the IT comadmuadnity about how they’ve been done wrong is a bit self indulgent.Yes, we’re gonna miss out on an opporadtuadnity here to truly advance the way Ausadtralians use data and interadact wireadlessly. So many peoadple seem suradprised by this, and for me, that is truly the surprise.
